SENEPOL was developed by crossing the N'Dama breed, a Bos Taurus original from Senegal, with genetics of Red Poll, from British Isles. It has appeared in St. Croix, in the Virgin Islands, a new breed that from the start had high heat tolerance, excellent immunity to parasites and diseases, and ability to survive on poor quality pastures, becoming a strong power of the cattle beef industry.
In 2000, the first animals arrived in Brazi , imported from the best U.S. and St. Croix herds, through the hands of the visionary entrepreneur and rancher Joao Arantes Junior.
The initial import involved SENEPOL genetic leaders and top quality females, continually increasing interest in the development of this breed.
By their genetics and the conditions in which it developed features, Senepol acquired strength and adaptability proving to be an excellent investment.
